Hello, I’m Joy and I live and work in West Yorkshire.  I’ve always enjoyed crafts of all types, from woodwork to lace-making.  I also enjoy anything mathematical, which makes knitting a favourite pastime, especially complicated designs.  I’ve been advising businesses and industry on environmental matters for 30 years and also have an interest in green living, especially where it saves me money.

I live with my husband and our Maine Coon in a 100-year-old cottage that constantly needs something doing to it.  Fortunately, I enjoy DIY too.  I do general maintenance, painting and decorating, basic electrical work and plumbing, simple woodwork, and in 2016 I learnt the fundamentals of plastering.  When anything breaks, I try to fix it rather than buying a new one or paying someone else to repair it.

If you click on a link in this blog to a book or anything else that takes you to the UK Amazon site, and you then make a purchase from UK Amazon, I will receive a small commission through the Amazon Associates affiliate marketing program. This helps to offset my costs and doesn’t cost you anything extra.  But if you’d rather not contribute in this way, that’s fine, just clear your cookies before shopping.
