Santa’s laundry

Full set of Santa's washingLast week I’d knitted half of Santa’s outfit for some Christmassy bunting.  Now it’s finished and I really like it.  I’m not usually a person who puts Christmas decorations up before mid December, but I’ve made an exception for Santa’s Laundry Line.  It’s strung up in front of the fireplace, although it will have to come down when we light the fire.  (Which nearly happened this week – we had several inches of snow on Wednesday and the temperature has been just a few degrees above freezing ever since.)

Back of long underwearThe all-in-one underwear is definitely the star of this line-up.  Not only does it open down the front, but it also has a rear flap for calls of nature.

I’ve edged both openings in a contrast colour so that they show up.

The pattern doesn’t include a belt but I felt that one was needed.  I tried to find a tiny gold buckle without success.  I ended up making one from an ordinary silver-coloured paperclip.

About yorkshirecrafter

I live and work in West Yorkshire.  I've always enjoyed crafts of all types, from woodwork to lace-making.  I also enjoy anything mathematical, which makes knitting a favourite pastime, especially complicated designs.  I've been advising businesses and industry on environmental matters for 30 years and also have an interest in green living, especially where it saves me money. I live with my husband and our Maine Coon in a 100-year-old cottage that constantly needs something doing to it.  Fortunately, I enjoy DIY too.

This is absolutely amazing and has got me feeling all Christmassy. The underwear is the start of the show for sure! 😀

  2. It does feel ever-so-slightly wrong to be Christmassy in November, but who cares?
